Can I use a Bluetooth headset with Jacoti ListenApp?: Bluetooth headsets are not currently supported in Jacoti ListenApp, but we plan to implement this in the future.
Which headset should I use?: Jacoti ListenApp is optimised for Apple EarPods headphones which come with your iPhone or iPod. Other headphones may be louder, however those should be used at your own risk.
I can't find Jacoti ListenApp in the App store. Is Jacoti ListenApp available for Android?: Jacoti ListenApp is not available on the Android platform. Android devices vary significantly in terms of hardware specifications. Reliable audio personalization requires precise calibration of all hardware components. The diverse range of Android devices and headsets makes this calibration task extremely challenging, limiting our ability to ensure accurate hearing compensation.
How can I improve the battery life while using Jacoti ListenApp?: You can improve battery life by keeping the screen of your device turned off and disabling Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth.
I want to change the values in my audiogram. How do I edit them?: In order to edit your audiogram, you will have to re-run the initial wizard and questionnaire. To do so, go to your app settings and click on My Audiogram.
The app keeps running in background. How can I stop it?: Jacoti ListenApp keeps running in the background whenever any app is connected. You may disconnect the active app within Jacoti ListenApp by clicking on the cross on the top-right corner of the card.
Can I use iTunes Home Sharing with Jacoti ListenApp?: No, this is not supported at the moment.
I can hear feedback. What should I do?: Jacoti ListenApp limits the gain so that you should not experience feedback. If this still happens, please reduce the volume until the feedback disappears.
What does Jacoti ListenApp do to the signal? Is it linear or non-linear?: Hearing loss compensation (linear gain) Jacoti ListenApp applies a frequency-dependent gain, which depends on the audiogram, the equalizer settings and the selected listening program.
Automatic Gain Control (non-linear gain) Jacoti ListenApp provides more gain to soft input signals than to loud input signals. The amount of dynamic range compression depends on the selected listening program. For example, the Classical Music listening program uses a higher compression ratio than the Natural Sound program.
Does Jacoti ListenApp use noise reduction?: Yes, Jacoti ListenApp does try to reduce noise in some situations. The noise reduction works best in noise-only situations, like for example a computer fan. If noise is present in a conversation, the noise reduction of Jacoti ListenApp will be less noticeable, though.
